GRAIN ROT Outpost upgrade planner
Quick answer
The order that saves the most loot: stamina first, then inventory tiers, then health and damage rooms, and cosmetics last. Tick what you have already unlocked below and the planner tells you the next upgrade to buy.
Gold is the only currency that matters at the Sanctuary Outpost, and you never have enough of it early. Spend it in the wrong order and you will be short on stamina when a run goes bad, or still carrying a mallet when you should own a gun.
Why this order
| Order | Upgrade | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Stamina | Universal value. Faster escapes save more loot than any damage upgrade, and stamina helps on every vessel and every run. |
| 2 | Inventory tiers | More carry capacity means more loot per trip before you must extract. Buy it before the weapon tiers so you can bring more back every run. |
| 3 | Health and damage rooms | Meaningful only once you can actually carry and use real weapons. Health keeps you alive on deep layers; damage shortens every fight. |
| 4 | Cosmetics | Buy them last. They do nothing for survival or loot. |
The reasoning in one line: stamina is universal value — faster escapes save more loot than any damage upgrade ever will. Inventory tiers come next because more carry capacity means more loot per trip. Cosmetics last, because they do nothing for survival.
Planner — what to buy next
Tick every upgrade you have already unlocked at your Outpost. The planner highlights the next one to save for and explains why it ranks where it does. Your progress through the priority list is shown at the bottom.

How to read the result
- Next upgrade is the highest-priority item you have not ticked yet. It follows the stamina → inventory → health/damage → cosmetics order above.
- Stamina before weapons is deliberate: a faster Spark escapes more often, which protects the loot you already have better than a bigger gun you cannot outrun with.
- Inventory Tier 3 is the last capacity step. Once you reach it you can carry a full load of loot every trip, which changes how much you bank per run.
- Cosmetics never affect survival. They are last by definition — there is no build where a skin saves a run.
